The ferry Mljet ferry was built in 2014 in the Uljanik Shipyard in Pula. It is one of four identical ships built for Jadrolinija due to fleet renewal, along with the ferries Kornati, Brač, and Krk. The ship's godmother is the Croatian shooter Snjezana Pejčić.
