The ferry Kijevo was built in 1997 at the Kraljevica Shipyard and is part of a series of ferries that also includes M/T Laslovo and M/T Ston. M/T Kijevo, like its "sibling" M/T Laslovo, was given a symbolic name, in remembrance of a settlement that was completely destroyed during the Homeland War.
