Robert Blažinović was born in 1984 in the Republic of Croatia. He graduated in 2007 from the Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management at the University of Rijeka, earning a Master’s degree in Economics. He continued his academic development at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Rijeka, where he completed a postgraduate specialist programme in Controlling. He is currently enrolled in a doctoral programme in Media and Communication at the University North in Koprivnica.
He began his professional career in the hotel industry, holding various operational management positions. He later transitioned to the public sector, where for more than a decade he has been engaged in shaping the industrial and entrepreneurship policy of the Republic of Croatia. In 2016, he joined the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, initially serving as Head of the Industrial Policy Sector. He was subsequently appointed Director of the Directorate for Industry, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, and later Director of the Directorate for Entrepreneurship and Crafts. In these roles, he led the development and implementation of public policies aimed at strengthening small and medium-sized enterprises, enhancing industrial competitiveness, and fostering innovation. He actively participated in the work of international organisations such as the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and numerous European Commission expert groups.
Since February 2025, he has served as President of the Management Board of Jadrolinija, the national shipping company of the Republic of Croatia. In this capacity, he is responsible for the company’s strategic and operational management, long-term planning, and financial sustainability, with a particular focus on digital transformation, fleet development, and the green transition.
Throughout his career, he has served as a member of the supervisory boards of several state-owned companies, including Narodne novine d.d., 3. Maj Shipyard d.d., Đuro Đaković Group d.d., Hrvatska brodogradnja Jadranbrod d.d., 3. Maj 1905 d.o.o., Agencija Alan d.o.o., and Petrokemija d.d.
