Marko Novaselić has been a Member of the Management Board of Jadrolinija since February 2025, bringing extensive experience in maritime transport, fleet management, and the development of projects based on sustainable technologies. Throughout his professional career, he has developed expertise in operational management, fleet innovation, and projects aligned with European and international standards for the green transition.
He graduated from the Faculty of Maritime Studies at the University of Rijeka and began his career as an officer in the merchant navy. He subsequently gained experience on various types of vessels, ranging from tankers and bulk carriers to passenger Ro-Ro ships. Within Jadrolinija, he served as Ship Captain before being appointed Executive Director for Commercial Affairs, where he led projects focused on improving business processes, fleet sustainability, and strategic development. He is actively involved in cooperation with domestic and international institutions, including project initiatives related to European Union funding and the objectives of the European Green Deal.
During his career, he has collaborated with the academic community, serving first as a Teaching Assistant and later as a Senior Lecturer at the Maritime Department of the University of Zadar. He has participated in numerous university research projects, including studies on the complex multiplicative effects of seaports and their impact on the economy, as well as research in robust optimisation and machine learning for decision support and the management of maritime systems and processes. Based on this work, he has published several scientific and professional papers. His expertise in ship systems, regulatory frameworks, and innovation positions him as one of the key contributors to the transition of Croatian maritime transport towards a sustainable future.
He is originally from Zadar, from the island of Iž, further contributing to the regional balance and maritime tradition within the management structure of the national shipping company.
